Welcome to McGuffie Avenue! Interview

By Interviewer at 11/25/07 11:50

Name of your website?

Welcome to McGuffie Avenue!

Your name?

JP Moneybucks

Your Location (city, etc)

Toronto, ON

What inspired you to launch your own website?

Feedback from children during author visits with Jazz the Cat was overwhelmingly positive and were encouraged to promote the children's series worldwide.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

We launched our first website in 1995 and it was at www.mcguffie.on.ca.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

It's the same name as the children's series and it's named after a real street in Canada - McGuffie Avenue!

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

Extremely original, colorful characters and concept. The music and songs are world-class and enjoyed by children and parents alike.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

A magical online world to be enjoyed globally including a cartoon series for television.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

It's very gratifying when we get positive feedback from our hard work and vision.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

Hire a large staff to assist in creating more games, songs and cartoons and develop our virtual world as we have always imagined.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Absolutely!

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

None to date.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Learning new technology and software but enjoying the challenge nonetheless!

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Still promoting, too soon to narrow it down to one particular avenue.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It's a constant learning curve as the online information, strategies and techniques are constantly changing.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

We've only had our new Flash version of the site running since August 2007. Our goal is to grow and develop the site every week and never take it down!

Replace this with a question of your own

Do you like our site as much as our visitors do? http://www.mcguffieavenue.com

What is your website address?

Welcome to McGuffie Avenue!
