Name of your website?Fussy Baby
Your name?
Holly Klaassen
Your Location (city, etc)
Winnipeg
Please give us a short summary of your website?
Information and support for parents of fussy, colicky, and 'high-needs' infants.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
I started Fussy Baby after having my son, who cried and screamed almost constantly. I was unable to find support and research-based information online, so started the site to help other parents going through the same thing.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
Fussy Baby is my first website. Since then, I have started www.HerSEO.com.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
I think it's pretty self-explanatory :)
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
Fussy Baby aims to provide original content based on research, so you can be sure you are getting relevant and timely information. We also provide an online support group, and try to provide our information in an empathic way, to ensure that parents know they are no alone.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
Continue to add helpful articles and provide support for parents. I have no intentions of Fussy Baby ever becoming a 'for profit' site...the income it does generate currently all goes back into maintaining the site.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Well, I've put in thousands of hours and a lot of money. The site appears to be helping people, and that is my ultimate goal!
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would have it redesigned in CSS, and have articles written by the ultimate experts in the field.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
SEO (search engine optimization)
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
ALOT more work and ALOT more money!
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
I've been running Fussy Baby for about 1.5 years, and will continue it indefinitely regardless of traffic, income or popularity (unless of course, my traffic falls to zero, in which case the work wouldn't be worth it!)
